Senior Software Engineer for an international AI-first company. Fully remote for candidates in Europe or MENA who live outside Iran and Russia. USD 85,000–120,000 gross per year.
ArgusRecruit is recruiting on behalf of an international AI-first company on a confidential basis. Our client develops production-grade agentic AI systems that combine large language models, retrieval, orchestration, and scalable software engineering to solve real-world business problems.
This is a senior individual-contributor role for an engineer with deep production experience in Python, object-oriented design, asynchronous systems, message brokers, APIs, and container orchestration. You will build and maintain scalable applications, contribute across the full software development lifecycle, and work closely with engineering, AI, product, and DevOps specialists.
The position is fully remote and open to candidates based in Europe or the MENA region. Candidates must currently reside outside Iran and Russia and have substantial working-hour overlap with the Swiss time zone. Applicants based in the Americas or East Asia are not eligible. No relocation is required or provided.
Compensation is USD 85,000–120,000 gross per year, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production-grade Python applications with strong object-oriented foundations.
- Design asynchronous workflows, data-streaming solutions, and WebSocket-based services.
- Build scalable backend services using Django or FastAPI.
- Work with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Build and maintain Python scripts and automation tooling.
- Contribute across requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Maintain reliable CI/CD workflows and containerized deployments.
- Conduct code reviews and uphold high standards for testing, documentation, and code quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, AI, product, and DevOps teams.
- Optimize systems for scalability, concurrency, reliability, and production performance.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience developing production Python applications.
- Strong Python, object-oriented programming, and scripting skills.
- Hands-on experience with asynchronous processing, data streaming, and WebSockets.
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or a comparable message broker.
- Strong proficiency with Django or FastAPI.
- A track record of delivering and maintaining scalable production systems.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including planning, testing, CI/CD, deployment, and maintenance.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong Git and collaborative version-control skills.
- Ability to solve advanced programming problems independently and demonstrate technical depth without relying on AI-generated solutions.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Current residence outside Iran and Russia, within Europe or the MENA region.
- Availability for substantial working-hour overlap with the Swiss time zone.
Nice to Have
- Experience with RAG, LLMs, or agentic frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, Hugging Face, or OpenAI technologies.
- Experience building generative-AI applications.
- Familiarity with AI and machine-learning principles.
- Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Strong Bash scripting skills.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
