Founding-level engineer to own the full stack of a consumer health-tech product — native iOS app, backend, AI layer, and wearable integrations. Remote-friendly; relocation to London supported (After probation).
ArgusRecruit is recruiting on behalf of an international health-tech company on a confidential basis. Our client is building a next-generation connected health platform — an AI-powered iOS application that consolidates wearable data, lab results, and clinical records into actionable insights for end users.
This is a founding-level engineering role with end-to-end ownership: you will architect and build the entire product surface — native iOS app, backend services, AI/LLM integration layer, wearable and lab integrations, and supporting infrastructure. You will set technical direction from day one and work directly with the founder.
The role is remote-friendly with a strong preference for candidates in compatible time zones (Europe / MENA / Caucasus). Relocation to London, England is available and supported after probation period.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the native iOS application end-to-end using Swift and SwiftUI
- Architect and develop the backend services (Go, Node, or Python) and data layer
- Implement deep HealthKit integration: read/write health data, background delivery, permission flows
- Build wearable integrations (Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, Amazfit) with normalized data pipelines
- Develop the AI/LLM layer (retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, function calling) over user health history
- Stand up cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP) with HIPAA-aware controls, CI/CD, and monitoring
- Make architecture and product decisions independently and partner directly with the founder
- Ship a polished, App Store–compliant product through review and into production
Requirements
- 6+ years building production iOS applications in Swift and SwiftUI
- Demonstrable HealthKit experience in a shipped product — not theoretical familiarity
- Proven backend experience serving real users (Go, Node.js, or Python with FastAPI)
- Hands-on experience integrating at least two wearable APIs (Oura, Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop, or similar)
- Practical LLM application work: RAG, prompt engineering, function calling, vector databases
- Strong PostgreSQL and time-series data modeling skills
- Comfortable deploying and operating production infrastructure on AWS or GCP
- Fluent English communication; ability to work autonomously across time zones
Nice to Have
- Prior consumer health, wellness, or fitness product experience
- Apple Watch (WatchKit) and WidgetKit development
- HL7 / FHIR familiarity for lab and clinical data integrations
- HIPAA-compliant architecture experience
- Shipped a product as solo founder or founding engineer previously
- Product and design judgement; comfort working from Figma without a dedicated designer
